Travelling to Las Palmas

Las Palmas is the capital city of the Gran Canaria Island. Gran Canaria is about 4.5 hours away from Central Europe by plane. The Gran Canaria airport is located about 11 miles (18km) south of Las Palmas and is the busiest of the Canary Islands airports, with a long list of carriers that fly in and out of it. There is a bus service from the airport and Las Palmas with a 20 minutes (approx) frequency during the day. The bus journey to Las Palmas takes about half an hour. Bus 60 runs between the airport and to Santa Catalina (€2.95, 35 minutes) twice-hourly between 6am and 7pm and hourly thereafter (€2.30, 25 minutes). Santa Catalina is located near the Playa de Las Canteras, where you hotel is most likely located. A taxi between the airport and central Las Palmas costs about €30.
